Visit Kibale forest National Park, well known for its highest concentration of primates in Africa for chimpanzee tracking alongside other primate species that may be seen along the way.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Airport Guest House

  • Arrival to Entebbe International airport, you will meet and greet our tour representative, who will thereafter transfer you to airport view guest house for your overnight on Bed and breakfast basis.
  • Meals & drinks: Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinks not included

Day 2: Kampala to Kibale Forest national Park

  • Take and early morning drive for about 5 to 6 hours to Kibale Forest National Park – home to the Chimpanzees,
  • We shall have lunch in Fort Portal and later proceed to your accommodation choice for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp.
  • Have enough rest as you prepare for a chimpanzee tracking activity in the forest the next day.

Day 3: Chimp Tracking at Kibale Forest National Park

 

* Kibale National Park is popular for 12 primates species and birds

  • Drive to Kibale National Park headquarters for briefing and then chimpanzee trekking in the forest. (Chimpanzees live in communities of 50-150 individuals but break up into small parties during the day to reduce competition on food).
  • This park also boasts the highest concentration of primates and the only place in Uganda where you a 98% guarantee of viewing the chimps in the wild than any other park in the world.
  • Spend 1 hour with the chimps before returning for a traditionally cooked lunch cuisine
  • Wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village where there are a variety of birds including the rare shoe-bill stork, and different monkey species.
  • Return to Guest House for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  • An early morning journey after breakfast to Kisoro town near the Bwindi impenetrable National park home of the famous mountain gorillas.
  • Drive to the park which is a habitat for some species of mammals, birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos and many endangered species.
  • Meals & drinks: Dinner (Breakfast & lunch not included) Non-alcoholic drinks

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  • Report to the park premises for registration by 8:00am and be briefed by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides after your breakfast, along with your packed lunch.
  • Start to trek through the bumpy bushes of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and bamboo covered slopes, searching for the amazing Mountain Gorillas.

    The walk can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. (The gorilla excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Expect to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas.) * A good physical condition is recommended.

  • You will also have an opportunity of seeing other species like the birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, beautiful butterflies among others.

*The time allowed to be with these gorillas in Uganda is 1 hour and every minute of the experience is worth the time you spend in search for them.

  • From the forest, you could retire or take an optional activity like visiting the pigmies or you can relax at the lodge.

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala

  • After your breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala as you view beautiful sceneries along the way (Travel Time: 9hrs.)
  • Have lunch en-route (not inclusive) thereafter proceed and have another stop over at the equator for the water experiment if you happened to have missed the 1st day of your trip.
  • Your driver will then drop you off at your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe.
    Travel Time: 9hrs.
