3-Day Wildlife Safari – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Diverse ecosystems which include sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes and wetlands, this makes it the ideal habitat for classic big game, primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds in the background is the jagged Rwenzori Mountains, enormous craters carved dramatically into rolling green hills a panoramic view of the Kazinga Channel with its banks lines with various animal, makes Queen Elizabeth National Park uganda’s most popular tourist destination.

Arrival

Day 1: Jinja-Queen Elizabeth NP

Meet the guide at you at accommodation at 05:00 hrs, set off heading to the western part of the country with a stop at the Equator for breakfast and photographs. Then we proceed with the road to Kasese which runs straight through the heart of Queen Elizabeth NP. Driving down the plateau we are given a breathtaking view which sweep before us of not only the park but the Rwenzori Mountains which loom in the background. Drive to Immaramaganbo forest for a nature walk, getting to natural green vegetation with breezes from the prominent Crater lakes, you are expected to see many bird species, butterflies, at least all monkey species, Baboons, Bats and Bat caves a home for the African Rock Python. The forest is one of the youngest remaining tropical rain forests in East Africa. Later drive to Jacana Lodge for an evening tea that can be served on a boat ride (optional) in one of the crater lakes that surrounds the area. Arrive in the evening at your accommodation for supper and overnight.

Day 2: Game Drive & Chimpazee Trekking

An early rise with the sun after breakfast, take the road heading for the morning game drive through the Savannah vegetation which brings to you a memorable morning game viewing when all the animal are looking for what to eat before the sun gets very hot. Among other you are expected to see Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, Bush Backs, worth hogs, antelopes, impalas. The park has a beautiful natural vegetation and landscape with over 650 bird species making it number one National Park with Bird life. Lunch break (Parked Lunch) then continue with a drivxsde to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking where you head off for a guided trek through the densely covered and beautiful gorge in search of man’s closest relative the chimpanzee. The sounds of the chimps carry through the forest very clearly so approaching and watching these creatures in their natural habitat is a fantastic wildlife viewing experience then return to your accommodation for supper and overnight.

Day 3: Boat Cruise-Jinja

Take an early breakfast then boat cruise on Kazinga Channel where hippos, crocodiles, elephants and buffalo will be in great abundance either at the waters edge, or alongside your boat! The boat will take three hours up to the famous Kazinga Channel Landing site. There are many bird species which can be seen among others include the King Fisher, Pelicans, African Fish Eagle to mention but a few all these will be seen in large numbers. Thereafter set off for your journey back to Jinja Kampala or Entebbe with good memories to last a life time.
